I've been revisiting Ahab's The Boats of Glen Carrig. It's a much much much better album than what I remember.

DØDSMASKIN - VERDENSSMERTE
One of the best noisy/industrial ambient albums lately. Some melody, too. The 4th track is noisy industrial.

ETERNAL ROT - Putridarium
More very relaxed death/doom.

Pessimist & Karim Maas - PESSIMIST & KARIM MAAS LP
Low-key electronic music.

... and eh... this:

Hideous Gomphidius - Spore Sorcery

SVC has released lots of Fall of the grey winged one stuff, btw.

Russian sludgsters Ad Nihil are back:

Ad Nihil - Сожжения Цивилизаций Миг

Great dual vocals again. The free download has two more songs. One of which is a cover of Black Sabbath's Electric Funeral.

Post Re: To what listenest thou?

Since I had some issues logging in here these past two weeks, here are some notes on the stuff I listened to:

Aphonic Threnody - first two tracks from the upcoming album. I have to say they sound a little more exciting than the last couple of albums. More on the death/doom side and more aggressive, with some clean vocals added, but not as bland as before. Weird progression with this band though - I remember in the beginning they were 5-6 people in the band, now it has only 2 members.

Marche Funèbre - first track from the new album - awful and clumsy (admittedly, I've never been a fan of this band=)

Frowing - first track from the new album - very, very promising, great progression from this band, hopefully the whole album will be in this vein

Pallbearer - first track from the new album - I do not really like it, it's a really mixed bag - might be heavier from the previous and the second part of the song has some nice, almost mournful moments but the overal feel is almost poppy in its happy vibes, the bright vocals and bouncy and energetic rhythm. They are getting further and further away from doom.

Uboa - The Flesh of the World - I agree that this is very good=)

POET - quite the mixed bag, at times it has too much bass for my taste but most of the album is really great

Sinistra - Totenlaut - a brilliant and underrated gem

Torture Wheel - simply fantastic, I still hope E.M. Hearst will make a comeback at some point, I definitely need more stuff like this

Dead Neanderthals - Blood Rite - amazing, love the scraping, drawn-out keyboard lines, the sound here is quite a feat for a guitarless drone/doom

Apathetic - Infurnose - the dedication is apparent, but it suffers from the typical bedroom projects issue like bad vocals, underwhelming guitar, etc. The rather active and imaginative keyboards save it from being unlistenable though=)

Urnscent - Of Simurgh and Ascent - not really a fan, it relies too much on simple power chords and very simple keyboards, quite unimaginative

Sygdom - Onkosphaere - surpringly nice, though I would have liked the vocals to be a bit more subdued for this type of music; but the choking and coughing on recordings is one of the cheapest and most appalling gimicks, very annoying.

GravenDusk - enjoyable, though the vocals are a bit underwhelming, without enough emotion and the music is also a bit too thin, though this is normal for the style. Still, the sense of darkness it emanetes is enough to make it worth the occational listening=)
