Emotional dark rock/metal. Giovanni, check this one song out; I think you'll like it. ;) It makes me look forward to listening to the whole album.

edit: it sounds so pro, I checked the musicians creds, and well, no surprise...

nice! Eh eh, you know me... :;): Two members from STS, one from Hanging Garden and one from To/Die/For... what more do I want? :D

lush, tranquil Funeral Doom, subbtle keyboard work, crushing, drawn-out riffing and a voice that knows its limits and keeps a low profile.

I also like the modest presentation the guy makes of this ambitious one-song album. It's worth a better production job but as it is, it sounds already really good though.

This is the stuff! It's getting harder to find good FD. I wasn't going to buy anything on BC for a while, but I just got a "Corona bonus" and this is going on the list next time. Not surprising to anyone, BC is going to keep waiving its fees once per month this year. It's an incentive well worth supporting.

Lately I do not have time to actively search for new bands, so I only listen to well known stuff or the recommendations here. Most impressive have been:

The Funeral Orchestra new album - quite exceeded my expectations, I thought they would opt for rather unlistenable sound but this is actually great and enjoyable

Andvaka - one of the very best things I've heard lately

Reido new album - the more I listen to this the more I like it

I like all of these. Hlidolf, too. I don't remember The Funeral Orchestra being this good; it was just one of those bands that didn't stand out from the pack.

I hardly got to listen to anything properly this week. Today I had to stay at home due to my own stupidity and listened to symphonies from Shostakovich in order. I also watched a documentary about him on YT. His symphonies (so far) are different to most classical music I know. A curious and torn figure living in troubled times. Some call his music grotesque. Most of it is definitely not "beautiful". I still have about 7 hours to go. :O These composers had an insane output. Compare that to Skepticism who release an album every 10 years...

He also did the second waltz (from Eyes wide shut?), that even today makes people smile and dance. Not the best version, but this is the spirit:

Spoiler: show

DakhaBrakha - Alambari
Some folk with female/mixed/just-weird vocals. Hair styles reminiscent of the Simpsons. First song is the best one (more on the jazz side).
Spoiler: show

Sutari - SIOSTRY RZEKI / RIVER SISTERS
Just nice folk music
https://sutari.bandcamp.com/album/siost ... er-sisters

Spider Kitten - Mud River Blues
Seems to be their doomiest thing. Sounds like a live recording.
https://spiderkitten.bandcamp.com/album/mud-river-blues

Very melodic doom. Some string instruments and nice female vocals:
POET - Emily

Lots and lots of NTNR demos. Gearing up for some final editing. This has been the hardest work I've done in regards to music production. Madness!

more of an autumn feel, which doesn't agree with the fact that it's so hot my brain (whatever little I have left) is melting, but I can't stop listening to that song!

This song is nice! Should be available on BC, though.
