Good funerary droney sludge for free, nothing outstanding but quite tasty;

Ah, I did not know they've made two new albums last year, they've come quite a long way since the early days. I remember their rehearsal, Solens Inälvor, some years ago which was very nice and surprisingly drawn out for their style, I even wrote to the band to get a tape with the rehearsal but they never responded.

p.s. even though they've moved towards a Grief-like style, which is always good, I still prefer the rehearsal=)

Another band from the guys of Beneath Oblivion:

Opium Doom Cult - Tremors to Signal the End

Scent of Silence - This Silent Distance (slow shoegazey stuff, BM vocals)

More of that psych rock band. This is the best thing so far. Even gave me some Fushitsusha - the wisdom prepared vibes (when they play something sludgy and recognizable after 50 minutes):

HAIKAI NO KU - Sick on my journey
(BC code for tomorrow: sale)

I've found another release by death/doom band Rippikoulu. It's curiously different to the straight-forward "Musta seremonia"
(https://rippikoulu.bandcamp.com/album/musta-seremonia):

Rippikoulu - Ulvaja
https://svartrecords.bandcamp.com/album/ulvaja
(check out the last song!)

cheers for the discovery. Beneath Oblivion is one of those obscure bands I've come to cherish all the more so that they're ignored by the masses - call me a decadent dandy :p and this new project is worth it as well.

Eötvös - Descent
Slow, groovy sludge. Really heavy. Sparse clean but angry enough vocals.
https://eotvos.bandcamp.com/album/descent

Neolithic - Born to suffer
Just one long track of Burning Witch worship. :) Vocals are not quite as good but it doesn't matter... that guitar tone!

Vorash - Anur
Soundscapey doomy stuff from a guy from Blood of Sokar. I just bought it...

:beerchug:

About to listen to this. Already had 2 cups of coffee in preparation. The name fits perfectly and it instantly clicked unlike Beneath Oblivion.

post hardcore duet; the heavy use of chant-like keyboard is an orginal feature, the rest is rather formulaic.

Stunned by this. Excleent demented BM, but slow enough to please a doom aficionado. Some hints of Esoteric now and then...

Top-notch bleak Sludge doom: https://hellishform.bandcamp.com/album/mmxx

the singer sounds like a she... Not too sure, but the voice increases the intensity.

I had lost track of this band, and in retrospect, taking into account what I know of their first albums, this sounds like a drastic change, but I like it better, with this vintage-)sounding goth influence.. In my old age, I find it more appealing!

Opium Doom Cult.

Mournful Congregation + Skepticism, some years ago, that was profetus, but they eventually tripped over the carpet (right after the demo, I feel), now this band takes the helm. And it's awesome.

The new one from:
The Funeral Orchestra - Negative Evocation Rites

Good industrial metal with French vocals:

Fange - Pudeur
https://fange.bandcamp.com/album/pudeur

Melodic and catchy, well-written black metal with accordion. Great Russian dual vocals again:

Путь - Песни Смерти
https://pskovway.bandcamp.com/album/-

The last track from this noisy gig (it slows down in the second half). It was part of the label discography and I go through them all:

BEEATSZ v2.0999 - ジェットより速い (Jetto Yori Hayai)

Lately I do not have time to actively search for new bands, so I only listen to well known stuff or the recommendations here. Most impressive have been:

The Funeral Orchestra new album - quite exceeded my expectations, I thought they would opt for rather unlistenable sound but this is actually great and enjoyable

Andvaka - one of the very best things I've heard lately

Reido new album - the more I listen to this the more I like it

This Empty Flow - the only band that can beat The Cure in their own game

Hlidolf unreleased demo - one of the best atmospheric and sparse drone albums

shedfromthebody - great recommendation from the bleak chicks thread=)))

Draconian - The Burning Halo

Post subject:  Re: To what listenest thou?

lush, tranquil Funeral Doom, subbtle keyboard work, crushing, drawn-out riffing and a voice that knows its limits and keeps a low profile.

I also like the modest presentation the guy makes of this ambitious one-song album. It's worth a better production job but as it is, it sounds already really good though.

Emotional dark rock/metal. Giovanni, check this one song out; I think you'll like it. ;) It makes me look forward to listening to the whole album.

edit: it sounds so pro, I checked the musicians creds, and well, no surprise...
