There's some good doom hip hop, that's already something to behold:

This is quite nice, sparse and brooding, reminds me a bit of Passo Uno's Presenze o.s.t.

damn, yes you did, and I even commented...! I had forgotten. :O
I've just received the cd from the label... While reading, it's some awesome background music! I love the girl's voice, her inflections on some words, super sensual! :inlove:

Katharos XIII is really good I agree! The girl's voice combined with the saxophone works fantastic.

Btw the band's evolution from early material is quite surprising=)

Yes, I must say i don't care much for what they did previously to this excellent latest album of theirs.

Now: https://boyharsher.bandcamp.com/album/careful

I love the boy's voice; very sensual!

First impression after the first listen of the whole thing: Masterpiece.

I almost forgot about Officium Triste in the last years, always liked them but they were just some kind of a little "overdone" doom band to me. But from the first second Death of Gaia I remebered again about their outstanding musical skills.

I like it, although it's in the realm of what we call "fluffy doom", a la Clouds... :p

Yes, I guess that's what I meant.

Do you think all Clouds stuff is from this overdone, "fluffy realm"? I was thinking about bands such as Swallow the sun, Draconian....Ok, maybe these are extreme examples. Basically I really like at least first of them, but it's almost impossible to listen to them because this thing ends up like torture in my ears. Thats how I remebered Officium Triste. I still think Clouds is different, Doliu at least.

Fluffy doom is just a bit of a a fun, sweeping generalization... of course most bands differ from each other and still have a common denominator: the music is melodic and a bit inoffensive... personally, I don't have a problem with all the bands you mention. They have their role and function. Doliu is a bit different... still not enough for me. It's still fluffy to my ears... :)
