Chained to the Bottom of the Ocean

A fine Funereal blackened Sludge Doom project I've just found out about.

Discovering this pretty solo goth project:
https://boyharsher.bandcamp.com/album/careful

And going on with another excellent melo rock-ish metal album: Villagers of Ionanna City/ Age of Aquarius

well, this is very nice, from Romania... blurb from Bandcamp...

KATHAROS XIII‘s third opus, Palindrome, is made of five long tracks that shifted from the traditional Depressive Black Metal into a more eclectic art form of expression with Dark Doom Metal and Post-Jazz elements, a certain evolution into a more personal unearthly ambiance that represent a new path in the journey that this band embarked more than twelve years ago. The same paranoia and weirdness but with different tools this time.

Glad you are enjoying it... it's pretty remarkable and a mesmerising evolution from their previous album (generic black metal)...

The second song from:
Of Spire & Throne - Penance

At the end there's a bit with triple vocals. Angry drunk + cookie monster + squealing pig. It sounds weird but also strangely compelling.

Detour doom project - bones

It's a short compilation of some doomjazz songs. Female vocals.

If you buy the label's discography and use this code "noirjazz" you get 90 releases for 10 €. Some good slow jazzy stuff. Most of it is weirdo hide-from-your-collection-immediately material. :yuck:

This compilation is also included:

Opeth - In Cauda Venenum

I have changed my mind about this one... definitely a step forward with more inventiveness and variety. The basics are the same, but it's not as boring as the previous 2 or 3 albums...

Et Mors

Flashes of Maiden Voyage/ Amaranthine Trampler; I feel they have a knack for Funeral Doom; seeing the slight but obvious evolution between their first realease and the latest, I expect their talent to keep expanding and florishing. Keep an eye on this.

The new Reido is very good! No so personal but so better than the previous one that it's a real resurrection.
A track like Anatman is a vague echo of the debut, too bad these kinds of sounds don't permeate the whole album.

My thoughts also - while very good, it is missing what made the debut so unique. They resurrected for sure, but went to too safe a place. Nevertheless, a great listen=)

New Reido? Not bad but a bit predictable...

Nice proggy metal, clean and growls, mid-tempo. Quite forgettable.

One first extract of the first full-length of this great sludgy/groovy all-female Death Doom band.
