some bits remind me of them... but, as you say, it's more trip hop, with jazzy undertones... stuff that bores me to death... it's well done, though...

This new Denovali release. Listening to the full version on Spotify. Damn, this is awesome, and incredibly dark and heavy despite being entirely electronic! I'm bloody annoyed there's no CD version... :( I've never heard of this Monolog project - will have to check it out. Subheim is a great artist, at any rate, so I'm not surprised this collab is worth it, too.

The Cure - Three Imaginary Boys (released in 1979 and still has been re-re-re-re-issued almost till this very day. Crazy. Talk about milking the money cow...)
Tsjuder - Legion Helvete (I love this album. Didn't think I would. This is rock n roll. dressed up as black metal).
Darkspace - S/t (if this recording only had had some decent fucking production, it would have been sublime).

After all these years of listening to The Cure I discovered this song just now, so these last few days I'm mostly listening to this.

Half an hour of very Faith-like sounding instrumental, gorgeous=)))

(apparently it was used instead of a support band during their Faith tour)

The cover of Colosseum made me realize how peculiar this band was. Delirium is a little classic for sure; what about the other two? I need to immerse myself in their discography once again, to see if I missed something.

Post Re: To what listenest thou?

In my teens I used to loath The Cure, being a hard rock/heavy metal kid leaning towards the heavier and more extreme music I could find and The Cure always sounded so posh and whiny and popular. But with time I learned to appreciate them, especially their older, darker, punk-ish days, and now I own like most of their discography, most of which on vinyl. But that 1979 debut is particularly cool, with a very close sound to British Punk rock which I like (Sex Pistols, Crass, et cetera). Killing An Arab? Oh, yeah, why not...

Yeah. The question about Negative Reaction made me check them out again, and there's absolutley no debate as to whether or not they belong to the best. They don't; bands like Cough and Thou are there to make the unquestionable demonstartion of that.

Negative Reaction carry a lot of undeserved hype around with them imo. They're ok. But not as good as everyone would have you believe.

Tried to listen to them and as expected, basically nothing there for me. Have heard better, more unique Sludge than that.
The Last Eibon and Walk Through Fire albums are far, far superior to that bullshit. How exactly are those considered classics, no less?

I don't know about the 'classic' label, but they are both brilliant albums. I never liked WTF (!)

Eibon is cool though, I like all they've put out.

Yeah, well expectation is the mother of all disappointment, so no suprises there.

Eibon and Walk Through Fire are both excellent. By WTF's latest I presume you mean the interpretations of Arvo Pärt's music? True enough, that is excellent.

I consider the Cough and Thou records as classics. Just a simple opinion, not really something to get all sweaty over. Take some deep breaths and have another try. You might find you like them.

In what are they brilliant???

In WTF's case, I meant this motherfucker: https://walkthroughfire.bandcamp.com/al ... s-misery-3

I am not familiar with the stuff you've mentioned.

Try listening to Black Sun and you'll see what Sludge is all about. I've grown tired of the countless bands playing basically the same tedious tune again and again, sounding virtually the same and bringing nothing exciting to the table.
