Un - Sentiment

Interesting stuff. I fail to notice any real original feature, but it's all very well done, and it's far better than their debut, it seems.

Listening tio this and then to Ennui/ end of the circle - Man, 1€ for the download!

I also like this album a lot, a real pleasure to listen to. But as far as I remember the debut was also quite good, though nothing original. Unless I confuse them for the band Ur, need to check=)))

Curious to hear the whole album!

This is a great find, I'd keep an eye for this when it gets out. Not wonder Weird Truth is involved here=)

I also like the Zatokrev song, though it makes me a bit sad that they are moving away from the sound of the excellent past full-length to a more standard post-metal territory.

I'm seeing both bands live in two weeks time and though I do not care for Minsk, last time I saw Zatokrev they were amazing=))

yes, the Zatokrev songs are superior, imo... never been into Minks much, but I was pleasantly surprised...

I took some time to listen to

40 Watt Sun - The Inside Room

Today. I need a few more loops, but I really like it.

But to be honest I consider it more Grunge than Doom, what do you think?

It's one of the best albums ever made. So much atmosphere, so slow, so miserable and just brilliant. 'Carry Me Home' is beyond words. Total doom mastery!!

NP:

In Flames - Subterranean EP

Doesn't feely doomy to me. Especially the drumming is missing the depth of metal music.

I listened to Wider than the sky today. It's more grungy, even poppy to my ears. And then I found out what is the sound that it reminds me of: REM - take a minute to think about it. The voice and way of singing is totally Michael Stipe!

I don't have that one yet. I thought I read it was just acoustic stuff which sucks, but if it was one quarter as good as their debut I'd probably love it.

...but I do see a big difference between Warning and 40 Watt Sun.
1. Drums: ultra slow, low tuned, heavy with lot's of reverb vs rather functional, simple patterns with no special sound production
2. Guitars: Some twin passages more single note melodies vs power and classic chords
3. Singing: Long clear stretched vocals with total despair and thoughtful vs depressive nearly distorted dull (not meant negative!) REM phrasing

Don't get me wrong: The Room Inside is great stuff (Wider than the Sky needs more of my attention).

I only liked Invisible White from them, the rest is too proggy for me, but this new one sounds very good, more simple, not too bouncy, quite cool=)

Ancestors is a very worthwhile rec, Merch, cheers!

edit: nearly 10€ for a download. At this price, I'd rather buy the cd, if it exists...

I never listened to the first, but I read it's long and proggier and rather tiresome at the end... this one is nice, short and to the point...

Abstracter - Cinereous Incarnate. Probably one of the best albums I've listened to this year.
Dark, menacing, mystery-laden, apocalyptic doom-oriented death metal. Wonderful.
