Post Re: To what listenest thou?

I was listening to Jex Thoth' Witness and thought to myself, after its dragging 15 minute-length: "what, and that's all they have to say?", so harmless and boring it was. And Then I checked the review on this site, and I happen to be the author of it, and obviously, I haven't changed my mind, good me! :D

My initial enthusiasm for this band cooled quite soon afterwords, unfortunately. I cannot even remember why I was fond of them-=))

PONCHARELLO
A band between stoner, energetic rock and metal.
Cool gig. Saw them live this week in France.

Do we have an Agalloch Thread?

Or not doom enough for this place?

you can start a thread if you like. Most "extreme" doom fans like Agalloch as well.
The rule here is that there's no rule, do whatever you like, but then face the consequences. ;)

I'd place Agalloch under Other Metal.

The Dead/ Deathsteps to Oblivion

Some parts are similar to Hooded Menace and Akatharta grim Death Doom, while others are more prog, like the track "the god beyond", some interesting mixed bag ...

Hallatar/ no stars upon the bridge.
Well, this is very, very good! It takes the best of melo doom and extreme doom, it's Swalow the Sun without the whiny parts.
It's an album that has been very polished in the studio and you realise that when you have very strong singers, growler and female singer, and a very good production to wrap it all up, more that half the job is done, the rest depends on the songwriting, and it doesn't disappoint here either.
