Post original/different Black Metal

I'm looking for anyhting really different than your usual fast, raw, buzzing/droning unlistenable stuff.

I need something a bit more open-minded, more ecclectic, less "traditional"...

Honestly, try out Primordial they're a rather easy band to get into. A Journey's End is a fantastic album by all means.

Negura Bunget's OM might be worth checking out as well.

If you're into prog maybe later Enslaved and Borknagar?

Thanks, but it's not really what I'm after. let's say something "weird", "otherworldly", "mystical" .. if possible!

I'm afraid I can't help you here, since that's exactly the time of BM I don't like... :)

Xasthur, Rivendell, Krohm, Nortt, Forgotten Tomb, Summoning. Doom/black but all good.

Cheers guys. Mare Cognitum, Trübe, yes, that's the spirit.
I'd rather have stuff that don't focus on fastness though (Weakling has its slower moments, but it's a tad too fast for my liking).
WITTR seem a good rec too, although they kind of give me the head-ache more often than not. :D

I hate Summoning and Rivendell. I don't like epic/sympho BM at all. But thanks anyway!

Checking out Wormlust now, this is pretty much what I'm speaking about: mid-tempo and whimsical... Although this is the best track on the album... :/

I’d go for the classics of Avantgarde/Prog BM first, such as:
Fleurety – Min Tid Skal Komme
Solefald – The Linear Scaffold
Thorns – S/T
Ved Buens Ende – Written in Waters

Also, check out the track “Traces of Reality” by Dødheimsgard. While I have a hard time getting into any of their other stuff, this piece is sheer brilliance. The self-titled EP by Norwegian band Strid, while not really whimsical, is a fine example of deeply atmospheric, dark, doomy Black Metal.

Among the younger bands, Schammasch, Oranssi Pazuzu and A Forest of Stars come to mind, but I’m sure you already know those.
