Post Whatever happend to Reclusiam & Nectare?

I found myself recently listening to Reclusiam (project of a Nectare member) and actually got to wondering, what happened to both that project and Nectare? Ryan used to be a visitor here but I'm guessing is long gone. Have both acts also fully disappeared? Their web presence at least seems to be gone.

Both are disbanded. I heard Ryan had given up music, but I don't remember where from, so it could be wrong...

You're right, I remember him telling me in an internet conversation. Although it coud have been a false memory as could me thinking that it was me typing this post.

I remember Ryan(?) once said on the old forums that they stopped Necare because Jonathan moved to another city, some family-related stuff if I'm not mistaken.

They were actually put on hold... but have been on hold for a good number of years now.

Hmm. I quite like that Reclusiam-album but wasn't really keen on what I heard of Necare (which wasn't too much). I guess that there are no more original self-released Reclusiam-copies for sale? I downloaded the album from the project's website but I'd like to have it in my shelf. But, as someone else said, the website has disappeared, so no more information and not even the artwork to print for myself... :/

Ryan gave its last Reclusiam interview to Laudatio Funebris zine. Basically there won't be new releases. Necare is also disbanded.
By the way, Jonathan is now playing in a prog band.

That is sad, I really liked the Reclusiam's album. Haven't heard Necare yet.

yes, shame. I liked both Reclusiam and Necare, Reclusiam being more Funeral orientated, but with beautiful and sad melodies. Necare maybe a bit more 'mainstream', if you can talk of mainstream in Doom! Good melodic and aggressive songs. Some said at the time that 'Ruin' was a bit derivative. I think Necare are more approachable than Reclusiam, but still quite enjoyable nevertheless.

I particularly found Reclusiam's song "Enim Corpus Meum" to be a fantastic piece of Funeral Doom... :)
