Wow, I wouldn't have expected to see them mentioned here! Serpentine Gallery is an all-time classic for me, but it's more in a Darkwave vein and thus quite different from the other bands mentioned in this thread. Definitely worth checking out, though. A later album of theirs, The Three Calamities, is also very good, though it has more of a Trip-Hop vibe.

Feel It Break by Austra is also very good:

(Sorry, I didn't get how to embed a Bandcamp link... :D)

Yes, but where do you get that number code for the album? I know I got it to work once before, but can't remember how.

On the bandcamp page, left-click on "share/embed" under the image, then left-click on "embed this album", you'll get to the "customize" window, you select your style and copy/paste the address of the link from the upper tab. Then, what you keep is only the line of numbers, here: 3140499315

Or if you are going to use it more often create a bookmark on your browser and add in the URL field:

javascript:(function(){var str = $('#pagedata').data('blob').lo_querystr;%20var%20id%20=%20str.substring(str.indexOf("item_id="),%20str.indexOf("item_id=")%20+%2018).replace("item_id=",%20"");%20prompt("Copy this into a bandcamp tag as follows: [bandcamp]"%20+%20id%20+%20"[/bandcamp]",%20id);})();

Then just click the bookmark when you've opened a bandcamp album and it will pop up the ID. Courtesy of the clever guy here that created this=)))

Mmmmm... my intuition tells me that the following bands could fit with your musical taste. Here's my suggestions:

Mourning Sun

Olive

Rose Kemp

The 3rd and the Mortal

Universe217

Lethian Dreams

Omit

Bathsheba

ISON will release a new EP in late January and there's already a first song out.

I can complain a bit that there is almost no progression (apart from less guitars) from the previous one and that I'd rather get a full length, but the song is once again beautiful and two EPs = full length, so it's fine. And Heike might be just too busy with Draconian in order to have enough focus on Ison for a full length.

Anyway, I'm excited=) Listen here:

The new Sinistro album is really fantastic!!!

Here's another new song from upcoming ISON album

I also found an old dark-folkish band of the vocalist from King Woman and Miserable. At times a bit too folkish for my taste, but some songs are really bleak and nice=)

Yes, The Steals is pretty solid indeed, I stumbled over that album about two years ago in connection with Darkher. As for ISON, I'm a bit disappointed in their debut EP: it's great musically, but it was pretty expensive considering the ultra-long delivery time and, more importantly, the fact that the digipack started disintegrating after a few months. I usually pay less for full-length albums with far better packaging quality.

You seem to be suffering a quite original curse with your digipacks! I don't have that problem with my ison cd which is still in good shape. But yeah, it's expensive indeed and this new one will be too considering the prices announced on their bandcamp.

To be fair, the new one is supposed to be more than 40 minutes long, hence it could be viewed as a full-length... But yeah, my digipack looks terrible, some sort of coating above the print is coming off in several places like peeling skin. :puke:
