I've honestly always thought Mordor sucked. :p Way too noisy and lo-fi for me.

Ras Algethi is another band I would identify as being somewhere between doom metal and ambient music.

Interesting stuff! It seems near-impossible to find out anything about the project or hunt down any releases, though...

Yes, I doubt it will be possible to hunt down anything via official channels.

I have some of the albums from the time when they were available as free downloads via sites like archive.org so I could upload them.

Otherwise, I do not know what your stance is on downloading torrents, but their whole discography can be found on the Russian site metal-tracker=)

Discovering this project, it's soothing and highly atmospheric, no big crushing riffs here... It's really very good!

I got The Longing (from 2011)... it sounds exactly the same! Are there clean vocals in this one? They were terrible on The Longing... that's why I never bought another one.

I don't mind Kostas' growls... clean vocals are an acquired taste... :p

Nadja, Methadrone.

They are my favorite.

Methadrone was a pretty great project. The earliest stuff is nasty as hell, whereas Sterility is actually one of the most relaxing post-rock/drone/ambient albums I have ever listened to. I used to listen to it during my morning shower before school. :D

It's very sad that Methadrone haven't show any activity for almost a decade now. All of the releases are wonderful and in a pretty niche style, so we always need more of it=)))

"A View into the Empty" is one of the best songs ever made, quite up there with the best of Nadja and The Angelic Process (you cannot ignore the The Angelic Process if you are a fan of Nadja and Methadrone, they are the holy trinity in this style for me=)))

There's this album which is rather convincing in exploring these kind of droning, shoegazy sounds you seem to like:
