Kauan's new album should be out this year. The announcements that it's going to be a continuation of "Aava tuulen maa" (my favourite of theirs) following the "less is more" approach sounds extremely promising!!!

Hadn't heard of this before - that's good news indeed! While I loved the previous two albums, I feel it is time for a change of direction now, and I've always loved "Aava tuulen maa". Funeralium, on the other hand...

Come to Grief (the band reborn from the ashes of Grief) will have their first album out in April. I'm quite curious as to what sound they'll play now.

Another piece of news I've missed! The track posted by bapho sounds quite good (even if you seem to disagree), but I don't hear much of a development which, 17 years after the last Grief album, does seem a tad disappointing.

Precisely that. Good quality sludge doom but nothing new. Possibly all you'd expect given what they're calling themselves, they're obviously not looking to cut too many ties to the past.

Post Re: Most anticipated releases

I'd quite like to see the Worship album I preordered in September 2015 - I know Daniel later declared himself somewhat unhappy with the content as it stood, but has anybody heard anything about an actual - or even provisional - release date since?
I get the idea of holding back "until it's ready", but getting on for two years with zero explanation seems like a piss-take of beyond Virgin Black or Saviour Machine proportions...

Hehe, I'd like to hear the new Worship also. But there is still no release date announced - every month or two Daniel comes up with a status like "i'm all right now, back on track now", followed by silence, followed by a similar status. So I've stopped paying attention to these...

As for Virgin Black - I do not know the story - have they taken pre-orders for Pianissimo before vanishing altogether?

I think Daniel has screwed his fans. I doubt anythings coming. I'm figuring he'll ask for more money at some point, if he ever resurfaces.

Well, the Worship's situation is certainly getting inexcusable at this point, especially the fact that he does not respond to messages requiring refund (including some for clothing, which has nothing to do with the album itself), but I still refuse to believe intentional wrong doing from his side and give him the benefit of the doubt, although he does not really deserve it at this point.

It would be a tremendous shame if he lets such a stain on the Worship legacy.

I like that band too. It reminds me I should have a listen to their latest.

Virgin Black got screwed by the label and I suppose there's some stupid contract issue that doesn't let them publish the album elsewhere (and they obviously don't want to deal with the same guys anymore).

There's a new Hanging Garden album coming out a month from now. I can hardly wait to hear it - 'Blackout Whiteout' really struck a chord with me, great stuff.
