2017-01-11 : New Frowning album due 17th February

Solo German Funeral Doom project Frowning will have sophomore release 'Extinct' released by Black Lion Records on 17th February.

From the press release:
"In 2016, Val Atra Niteris started working on the new material for Frowning and signed to Swedish label Black Lion Records for releasing the highly-anticipated sophomore full length "Extinct", a nice follow up to the debut album that took the world by storm. Extinct contains 5 stunning tracks of pure Funeral Doom. Mournful gutwrenching growls, eerie cold melodic atmosphere, desolate tones of acoustic guitar, slow, crumbling and drone oriented riffs all of these elements of the album ensure that a phenomenal Funeral Doom journey is awaiting for the listeners.

The album features guest vocals by Stanislav Govorukha from Suffer Yourself and Hekjal from Ad Cinerem, Hatul and Ex-Temple Of Oblivion, who is also part of the Frowning-live band."
