Quick introductory interview.

Interview with Decomposed (Canada).
1. Who are you and how did the band get started?

I am André Ashes from Decomposed. How I created the project, was from having some deep influences inside the death/doom metal scene.

2. Why did you choose Doom, and how would you describe your style?

Basically, when I form a project that involves anything doom-related, I tend to always mix the genre with something else to give it more verity, rather than just doom. Now, considering the style used in Decomposed, I would strongly suggest it has a rather unusual, simplistic and somewhat experimental theme.

3. What would you consider to be the high point of your career so far?

Well, I wouldn’t exactly know how to suggest that, as of right now at least. I guess, what I’d probably consider to be the current “high point” in my career, in terms of anything Decomposed, would be the 2017, five-track EP, entitled “The Forest”. I feel it’s my best work, of course.

4. Which three bands most influenced you?

Funny how this came together, actually. The primary band that influenced me the most, was Decomposed from the United Kingdom. If I had to pick two other bands that also had an influence on me, I would say Encoffination and Electric Wizard.

5. What are your plans for the near future?

In the near future, I do have plans to release a full-length record. And it’ll likely be this year, in 2018. Since this is a solo project, it consumes a lot of time, drains creativity and takes inspiration. Doing my best with what I have and know what to do. I hope it all falls into place.

6. If there is anything you would like to add, the last words are yours.

Please continue to support the underground metal scene as much as possible. Keep showing your support for small, local bands. Even underground metal bands that are scattered throughout the known galaxy.
