Quick introductory interview.

Interview with Fvnerals.
1. Who are you and how did the band get started?

We are Fvnerals. The band was formed in 2013 in Brighton, UK when Tiffany Strom (vocals/bass) met Syd Scarlet (guitar).
We recorded and released our first EP in February and started gigging in May the same year.

2. Why did you choose Doom, and how would you describe your style?

I don't think you "choose" a musical genre when you create music, it's more a case of people labelling it after it is created I guess. We use the word doom to describe the slow and powerful nature of our music but we also have elements of post-rock, ambient,...

3. What would you consider to be the high point of your career so far?

We really loved playing Doom Over Leipzig festival in Germany, just because the promoters are the best we have encountered, we were treated amazingly and felt at home, the line-up was great and the crowd there was cool too.

4. Which three bands most influenced you?

It's hard to only pick 3 but I would say Shannon Wright was a big influence when I started this project, I liked the simple and direct aspect of her music while being aggressive and emotional, she really is an amazing singer, guitarist and songwriter. Earth and particularly the album "Hex.." is another favourite of mine, that album is a masterpiece and illustrates perfectly how so much can be said in between notes. Finally, I really love Monarch, again I just like their simplicity and intensity, "Sabbracadaver" is such an amazing album, I listened to it a lot when it came out.

5. What are your plans for the near future?

We are playing Somatic Festival in the UK late November and planning a short Euro tour in January with our friends from Cavalcades!

6. If there is anything you would like to add, the last words are yours.
