Traditional Doom, Stoner This is some extremely spaced-out music. Echoed vocals and a heavy, but laid back vibe dominates the music. In general the music does have it's moments when one is reminded of YOB. Other times it is closer to Acrimony or Abdullah. Starchild had a good run from 2003 to 2006, managed to release 2 full length albums and 1 split EP and toured extensively on the east coast and in the southern states until Richard Bennett developed a severe case of Tinnitus and was forced to stop playing live. Almost 10 years later, he released some previously unavailable digital singles and began doing some studio work again for Starchild and a new doom/stoner band called Stars That Move. |

Members Richard Bennett and Frank Sikes are also involved in stoner/doom band, Stars That Move and Richard owns/runs Twin Earth Records. Although the Starchild catalogue is currently being reissued on Richard's label (on CD and vinyl), it is unknown if Starchild will return to a fully active status. |
