Winterkou

The Netherlands - Active.

Description

Black/Doom

Winterkou (Dutch for Wintercold) is the resurrection of the christian, Dutch, two-man band Jordskaelv. After Jordskaelv disbanded the band quickly started again under their new name Winterkou. Musically the differences are also minimal. So much so that it might perhaps be better to speak of Jordskaelv renaming to Winterkou. But for the sake of argument they have been given two separate band list entries. Despite the Black-metal imagery the music is often slow to sluggish-mid tempo. The heavily distorted music is very atmospheric and calming, only the black-metal vocals remind one of any Black-metal element. An interesting band to check out when your into more atmospheric, yet harsh black/doom.
