Ocean Of Sorrow

Russia - Status : unknown.

Description

Black/Doom

Mid-tempo, black/doom, with gothic elements. Grunted/spoken vocals are mixed with black metal shrieks, and ethereal female vocals. The band weaves full on black metal riffing with peaceful, slow doomy parts, making for an interesting mix. However, they do not have a style that resembles Dark-metal (pure mix between doom and black). The music is either faster melodic black-metal or pure death/Doom (or alternates between the two in one song). The lyrics seem to all be in their mother tongue: Russian!

Misc

Note: their official website is in Russian only. The demo called 'Демо' is out for free on their webpage under the Myзыка section. The band went under the name SynthEthicA at one point, apparently before releasing the first demo.

The band interchangeably uses their Russian (Океан Печали) and English names. They also interchangeably use the Russian and English title for their album. - Океан Печали transliterates to "okean pechali", and 'Таинство Зимы' to "tainstvo zimy".
