Coven 13

USA - Active.

Description

Traditional Doom

First formed in 1986, as simply Coven, this Detroit-based four-piece came across as an eclectic mix of influences that probably deserve the label 'proto-Doom' or 'doomy' rather than outright Doom. The overall pace, and plentiful guitar leads, nod as much towards the likes of AngelWitch and Cirith Ungol's Heavy Metal as to Black Sabbath or Solstice's Trad and Epic/Nordic Doom. After several reformations over nearly 30 years, Coven 13 have now begun recording again, sounding faithful to their original blend of '70s/early '80s elements.
