Misantropus

Italy - Active.

Description

Death/Doom, Stoner/Doom

Hailing from near Rome, and formed in the late 1990s, Misantropus adopt a largely-instrumental and often-relentless pattern of hypnotically-repeated riffs adorned by little except percussion. Due to the primitive/minimalist nature of these structures, it's actually quite hard to say whether they really fall under either listed genre, or which should take precedence, but they are undeniably loud, heavy and forceful.

Misc

Although the first four releases are all identically self-titled, they do contain different material; so the two albums are often referred to as (I) and (II).
