|Avantgarde Doom, Black/Doom|
One of the lesser known bands to lead the revolution of extreme doom in
Finland back in the 90's, alongside Skepticism and Thergothon.
Dissonant guitars, hideous screams, bizarre clean vocals, and an overall
unearthly atmosphere made Unholy's music a force to be reckoned with.
While the first two albums made for a hallucinogenic and scary sounding blend
of black/death/doom metal, later works showed the band going for a more
straightforward and melancholic direction with a lead female vocalist. As a
whole, the group's discography belongs in the collections of those who enjoy
Esoteric, Dolorian and Bethlehem.
