Spare

USA - Active.

Description

Funeral Doom, Death/Doom

From Tulsa, Oklahoma, Spare broadly work with a Funeral Doom-cum-slow Death/Doom template as far as the typically long, downtempo pacing and harsh-vocalled delivery of the compositions goes. However, because of the way tracks are constructed, there can be considerable chaotic variation in mood and theme within each piece. Band founder and instrumentalist Jeff Fischer describes it as "music written to translate my bipolar into music and sounds...you aren't hearing music here, you are hearing pure emotion recorded as a bipolar experience. Judge the music as emotional turmoil, not just random riffs and songs". The resultant combination of experimental, noise and differing doom influences makes the band very difficult to accurately classify or compare.
