Witchfinder General

United Kingdom - Disbanded.

Description

Proto Doom

Witchfinder General mainly gained fame after their disbandment. A NWOBHM band whose sound is clearly influenced heavily by Black Sabbath. The band became notorious for its album covers, featuring the band in medieval costumes torturing semi-naked women (witches). The band was one of the earlier bands with a Doom-metal'ish sound, and has reached cult status these days (esp. among older fans).
