Vestige Of Virtue

Norway/UK - Active.

Description

Gothic/Doom

Comprising a trio of extremely well-known names in the Doom scene, Vestige Of Virtue sees the (re)union of Kjetil Ottersen (In_zekT, Omit, Funeral) Frode Forsmo (Minas Tirith, Funeral, Old Manís Child) and Shaun Winter Taylor-Steels (Solstice, Anathema, My Dying Bride) under a banner of classically-influenced Gothic Doom. Aiming for a more philosophical form of melancholy, not simply a depressive darkness, the band's material explores conceptual themes, mixing elements that range from melodic Death/Doom to baroque Renaissance. Thoughtful, reflective and occasionally uplifting, their sound is both distinctive and accessible.
