Funeral Doom Originally a two man band centered around "Fucked up Mad Max" (Max Varnier) from France and "The Doommonger" (Daniel Vaross) from Germany. Extreme suicidal, misanthropic and fucked up Doom in the vein of Thergothon. Consisting of just two members, a true underground/cult act that until 2004 only saw their work released on tape and very limited vinyl. They made some of the most extreme Doom ever and will definitely appeal to fans of aforementioned Thergothon, as well as Skepticism, early Unholy, Esoteric and other extreme acts. The band disbanded after vocalist Mad Max killed himself by jumping off a bridge. But in 2004 Worship started to show signs of life again with the only remaining member Doommonger blowing new life into the band. |

Most of the 'Last ... Before Doomsday' albums are the same, except for the medium they are released on. The CD version also has a fifth song called 'Keep on selling Cocaine to Angels' taken from their rare split with Agathocles. Mad Max was the editor of a 'Oceans Morphique' fanzine. The split with Agathocles is close to impossible to find. Rumor has it that most of the records (sitting in Mad Max's basement) were destroyed by Mad Max's parents after his suicide as his family blamed the music for his death. Max Mad also used to play in Beer Vomit. Doommonger used to play in Somber Serenity and to this day is a member of Gothic/darkwave outfit: Beyond the void. 'Elemental Doom Trilogy I - Wood' is a split with Persistence in Mourning. |
