Pelican

USA - Active.

Description

Post-Metal/Post-Core

Atmospheric Sludge/Post-Rock from the US. The band themselves say they can be filed next to bands as diverse as Godflesh, Earth and Mogwai. Pelican doesn't use any vocals and the music seems totally based on feedback and down-tuned vibrations. Their self-titled EP is their only release which can be considered Doom; consisting of titanic Sludge Metal with Drone influences. Their work thereafter is much less abrasive, and leans more towards Post-Rock than Metal.
