Deinonychus

The Netherlands - Active
Description
Starting out as the one-man Black-metal project of Marco Kehren, Deinonychus slowly transformed into a dark-metal act. From 'The Weeping of a Thousand Years' onwards, Deinonychus produces extremely tortured suicidal music. An original mix between doom, gothic and black. Edging more and more towards doom and gothic with each album, but never the same. The beyond sick, at times almost crying, vocals are not everybody's cup of tea, but give the music that extreme, yet realistic tortured sound.

Misc
Although initially a solo project, more members slowly joined making Deinonychus a full band for "one and a half" releases ('Deinonychus' and 'Mournument'). After this experiment the Deinonychus returned to being a one-man project of Marco Kehren. Before releasing the first demo, Deinonychus went under the name Malefic Oath.

...where ultra-slow funeral doom plod along with it's misery, nihilism and hideous death. In the two latter tracks a little more melody and an even stronger feeling of nihilism is brought in along with clear elements of Until Death Overtakes Me...
