About Doom-Metal.com
Welcome to www.doom-metal.com, *the* place on the net for information and discussion about doom metal in all its forms. We bring you the latest news from the doom world, reviews of new albums, obscure demos, and classics, interviews, and a very active forum community.

The website has been in existence in different forms since the beginning of the decade, and has seen many staff members and designs come and go. Doom-metal.com first came into being as a merger of The Doom-metal Netguide (previously maintained by Kurt de Meulemeester) and the #Doom-metal homepage (previously maintained by Aldo Quispel). Aldo Quispel and John Riendeau, helped by Curt and Kurt, set up the website in its first incarnation. Aldo continued to be the main driving force behind the website until early 2007.

After several longer periods of inactivity and internal reorganisation, it was decided that doom-metal.com needed a major overhaul. Aldo resigned as the manager and webmaster, and currently the site is maintained under the leadership of Arnstein Pettersen, Oscar Strik, Oli Tipper, and Georgia Weidenhof, all of whom have had at least several years of experience as a staff member here. They continue to be supported by an enthusiastic staff.

Along with the change in leadership, it was also time for a new design, and you are looking at the results right now. Designed by Oli, the latest incarnation of the website sports a full integration of the features our visitors have become accustomed to: the bandlist, reviews, news, tourdates, interviews, etc. In addition, the current staff strives to bring back popular features from the past, such as the doom-metal.com radio station.

We hope you will enjoy the new version of the website, and we welcome you into the community.
